I have a feeling a lot of people are going to be very pleased to find that the Android Facebook app now has an update.  Gone are the days of having to leave the very lightweight app and hit the mobile site to do simple things.   While many will still be a bit off-put to find that facebook chat is still not included the update is pretty solid as stands.

New additions to the apps homescreen include: messages, friend requests and notifications. With the notifications inhabiting a sliding drawer at the bottom of the application.  As well as a swype/scroll style display of all your friends, groups and "likes" most recent photos.

Update: clicking your notifications sends you to the browser.  And of course shared links also use the browser.
