T-mobile takes new approach to wireless with Simple Choice

Today T-Mobile President and CEO John Legere took to the stage at a event in Manhattan to make a few announcements.  One of the biggest announcements was a seemingly new approach to business of being a wireless carrier. With the announcement of the Simple Choice plan T-Mobile is trying to take a more modern and 'simple' approach.

Following along with the announcement were a series of tweets describing the mindset T-mobile has as they make this move towards Simple Choice.  From what I can gather based on these tweets. Customers can look forward to No Overages, Anytime Upgrades, No annual contracts and Lowest out-of-pocket cost at activation .

 If you couple that with T-mobile's new "pay off" approach to it's newly announced devices this may be exactly what it takes for T-mobile to draw costumers away from competitors AT&T and Verizon both of which hit a fair bit harder in the wallet region. Ideally you'll walk into a store and get whatever phone you want for $99 down and pay off the price of the phone over the course of two years. (so no contract but still kind of a contract)

T-mobile G4x to be first quad-core stock android device

Looks like LG is ready to release the first quad-core android device running stock android.  And all signs point to this device landing on T-mobile. And it makes sense to have this device join the rest of the G-series phones. I'm personally looking forward to seeing how this devices runs once we see it 'in hand'. Customers were a bit underwhelmed by the G2x that was plagued with issues at launch.

And in light of there being no signs of the new Galaxy Nexus making an appearance on T-mobile via retail stores, the G4x running android 4.0 might be the next best thing or better.

T-mobile announces Samsung Galaxy S II

The Samsung Galaxy S II has already hit 10 million sales outside the US.  With Sprint and AT&T shipping their own variants of the phone those numbers will no doubt continue to climb. And the original android carrier; T-mobile, isn't going to be left out on this one.  The T-mobile version replaces the Exynos processor with a 1.5GHz Snapdragon, and there is a size upgrade as well.

T-mobile offically announces MyTouch 4G Slide

After sending out a not so mysterious tease via twitter just days ago. The Mytouch 4G Slide has been officially announced. And it's sporting what they claim is the "most advanced camera of any smartphone."  8MP shooter with ClearShot HDR, SweepShot panorama, BurstShot and the Genius Button.

T-mobile giving away 10 HTC Sensation 4Gs for Father's Day.

HTC Sensation to Launch June 8th?

A lot of T-mobile customers have been awaiting the arrival of the Android power house formerly codenamed the HTC Pyramid but better known as the HTC Sensation.. And recently multiple sources have begun to speak about a June 8th launch date. And even more recently a slip up with Google ads seemed to back this up.  Seen below: a general search for "HTC Sensation" displayed the typical Google results along with a Google add for the device.

T-Mobile G2X only $149 on Amazon with no rebates.

The Dual-Core and Tegra 2 totting smartphone has landed and his received some pretty good reviews.  This coming from tech blogs like Engadget and BoyGeniusReport. The most abundant thought seems to be that this device is really fast.   In fact infamous android hacker and modder Cyanogen tweeted last night about the newly launched device and seemed pleased. (Images below.) 

If you're looking to purchase the device it has been available for a few days now exclusively over the web through T-moible at $199 with a 2 year contract. Now available in stores the device can be found on Amazon for $149

The guys over at AndroidCentral were able to get their hands on the Sidekick4G.  From the looks of this video this device is full of the sidekick experience.  Those familiar with the sidekick brand will instantly get a sense that this is indeed a descendant of the Sidekick line. Pricing for LG G-Slate announced by Tmoible

T-mobile has finally released the pricing for it's Android 3.0 Honeycomb powered tablet.  The price marks leaves me a bit disappointed, something being echoed by others. Other android tablets that are comparably a small step down are going for $199 (Dell Streak 7)

T-Mobile officially announces the Sidekick 4G

We've been expecting this one for awhile now and even saw a few pictures of the device in the wild.  Now T-mobile USA and Samsung  have officially announced The Sidekick 4G.

T-mobile relaunching Sidekick line with Sidekick 4G running Android.

I was a huge fan of T-mobile's Sidekick line of phones. The sidekick was for me like many others my very first venture into the land of smartphones. In fact I owned every version of the sidekick other than the original monochrome sidekick. If you're reading this I bet you know a few people who used to have Sidekicks.  When android launched back in '08 the G1 was the perfect device to lure me to android. Andy Rubin former co-founder and CEO of both Danger Inc. and Android had a lot to do with the design behind the G1 the first android device.

The Sidekick was officially discontinued as of last year but T-mobile still owns the trademarks to the Sidekick name.  Last week T-Mobile held an investor meeting and officially announced the T-mobile Sidekick 4G and that it would be running Android. Since then some 'in the wild' pics have surfaced (above) and even though not much is known about the device at this point we can see from the image that the device is apparently made by Samsung, has front facing camera, and is said to be running  2.2.1
