Screenshots of Ice Cream Sandwich leaked

So a couple of days ago images of the new version of android aka. Ice Cream Sandwich hit the internet. The screen-shots show the OS running on an Nexus S.  Even though we'll have to wait until later this year for a release, a lot of android fans and developers a like have been excited.  Now for the general consumer these leaks may not be much to get amped up about but to me this all says "get read". Even though there is no update on a release date Check out the screen shots below .

• New launcher and app drawer
• Camera will have panorama mode
• Gmail has been overhauled to go with the OS
• Nexus S will receive the ICS update but the new Nexus device "Nexus Prime will get it first.

New Nexus 4G device in the works.

I'm sure a lot of you can relate to wanting to get the hottest device out their when you're ready to make a purchase. And just when you're ready to make the plunge a new hot device with comparable specs is announced.  Just as I'm ready to finally make a move towards a G2x to replace my Nexus One here come rumors of a brand new Nexus 4G and apparently "it's a beast".

BGR reported just days ago that it had exclusive information on a new Google device possibly called the  Nexus 4G.  Reportedly the device will house a next-generation dual-core 1.2 or l.5 GHz CPU, a OMAP 4460 or a ultra low power 28nm Krait-based Snapdragon.  The display; 720 HD "monster-sized" screen and it will be free of any buttons below the screen.  Everything software based.  4G LTE, 1GB of RAM 1080 HD video 1-megapixel front facing camera and a  "class leading" 5 megapixel camera along with superior low-light performance. The device will be running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)

BGR has been on their game lately but all of this is still unconfirmed along with no carrier being named.  My fingers are crossed that this will be shopped to all carriers. In the least giving the original android carrier a crack at it: T-mobile. Ok I may be a little biased being that i'm on T-mobile.  I want this phone already.  It's rumored to drop around Thanksgiving.

Xoom 2 and other devices leaked by motorola.

It's a constant truth of technology, it moves fast. So it really shouldn't come as a surprise to me that the Xoom 2 may be in the works while I'm still considering purchasing the original. Or that a new Nexus device is rumored to drop later this year. Right when i'm ready to settle for a G2x to replace my Nexus One.

Earlier this month Motorola 'inadvertently' leaked images of a number of it's future devices from it's mobility site redesign. Pocketnow.com was quick on the gun and able to grab some screen shots.  Among them the Slimeline and Zaha handsets, a watch phone named the Tracy XL, the Motorola Xoom 2, the Motorola Pearl and the LTE enabled Motorola Targa.

I can't help but wonder how the Tracy XL will compare to the android powered watch that we talked about last week. I even included a Dick Tracy joke back in that post. Check it out.

The still unannounced Droid 3 shows up in pictures.

There really isn't much information on this Device right now. In fact this could just be a prototype. But it looks pretty solid.  Droid users do you like the look of this keyboard?

BBM coming to Android and iOS?

News and Rumors that RIM has plans to release it's BBM service on Android and later iOS devices have been floating around since last week. Boy Genius Report has stated that things are indeed in the works to bring BlackBerry's prized messaging service to Android and possibly iOS as well.

There is not solid date or pricing information at this time.  And it is speculated that the Android and iOS versions may be a stripped down version of the service; one lacking features like picture, video and location sharing. With apps like WhatsApp and Kik  becoming ever popular on Android and iOS, RIM may be trying to take back the market that these apps are utilizing which is based on a concept they created to begin with.  According to BGR, android was chosen first because it would be easier to develop and integrate on an open platform.
