Google Goggles adds Translation

Posted on 2/17/2010 by A.A.I

For those who haven't heard. Google launched a new project/app a while back. Google Goggles. Goggles is a step into the realm of visual search. You point your android mobile device at a object or text and goggles will identify the subject and bring up relevant info. Check out the short video for a little info on Google Goggles.

Well yesterday, Feb. 16, 2010 CEO Erich Schmidt and one of the goggles engineers previewed a future feature. The already very interesting application now has even more potential. The team has integrated goggles with googles translation machine. Now you can point your device at text and goggles will translate on the spot. It takes a matter of seconds. Now the integration isn't yet finished and as far as we know is only working for german - english translations at this time. This is certainly something to keep an eye on. video below.
