- Simultaneous voice and data within 4G or wi-fi coverage was discussed,
- Dual cameras: one 8.0 megapixels and capable of HD recording, the other front facing and 1.3 megapixels.
- Built in Hotspot functionality with up to eight wi-fi enabled devices. (additional $29.99)
- HDMI out.
- A custom browser that was optimized for the 4.3 inch display.
- Kickstand built into the back of the handset for video viewing.
- Flash support.
- Pinch-to-zoom
- Latest version of the HTC Sense UI
The Evo will be available in Sprint retail stores as well as Sprint.com, RadioShack, Best Buy and Wal-Mart for $199.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new line activation or upgrade. You can pre-register now at www.sprint.com/evo or at your local BestBuy.
Plans start at $69.99 a month but it's worth noting that their is a mandatory $10 fee for 4G usage. Something that I think many will not be pleased with since most coverage areas don't even have 4G yet. This isn't mentioned on the bestbuy site and could cause complication for in store customers. Also isn't the charge of $29.99 for hotspot functionality charging you data you already pay for?
